We’re excited to announce the release of the new Alpha SmartTemp Gel Liner.
The new SmartTemp liner utilises a thermoplastic elastomer (TPE) gel that is combined with the latest heat management technology, giving users a liner that reduces sweat by an average of 48% compared to that of a standard TPE liner.
Excess sweating is one of the leading causes of discomfort among amputees, particularly among those who wear a locking liner, as these can become slippy and lead to a lose of suspension. Sweating also encourages bacteria growth, which in turn leads to bad smells and even blistering on the residual limb. Such a vast reduction in sweating will therefore not only lead to better hygiene, but also help to reduce tissue breakdown among amputees.
The liner also has the added benefit of its outer layer being made from a Select fabric. This fabric provides unidirectional stretch, which helps to eliminate pistoning and increase durability by allowing the liner to accommodate for larger volume changes.
