Established in 1989, Ortho
Europe is part of the Ortho Group of Companies operating to ISO
Standard 13405 2003 Quality Management System. Currently the Ortho
Group employ more than 250 people.
Ortho Europe is a leading provider of a wide range
of prosthetic components, materials and consumables to the UK
prosthetic market. Ortho Europe SARL is a major supplier to the
French market and Distributors represent Ortho Europe worldwide.
An example of Ortho Europe innovative design and
advanced engineering is the Sensor weight activated hydraulic
knee. This more recent development is the result of many years
of experience in hydraulics technology and has resulted in an
extremely reliable product which will allow the amputee to walk
naturally with changing speeds and experience smooth movement
throughout the gait cycle, all with little effort. Its predecessor,
Ultimate Knee remains a firm favorite with many amputees and is
still available from Ortho Europe.
In addition to the specific high tech Sensor and
Ultimate Knee units, Ortho Europe offer a complete range of high
quality lower extremity prosthetic components and a range of highly
dependable knee units to suit many levels of activity. All products
are fully tested and approved to the amputee weight limits given.
Exclusive working partnerships with other leading
manufacturers of prosthetic products, including Ohio Willow Wood,
Hosmer Dorrance and Silipos, greatly extend the range of product
offered by Ortho Europe.
Ohio Willow Wood, one of the leading manufacturers
in prosthetics in the U.S. are best known for their Alpha Gel
Prosthetic Liner products which provide the ultimate in comfort
and skin conditioning. More recent developments from Ohio Willow
Wood include an exciting range of prosthetic feet and more product
in the CAD/CAM socket technology product range, notably the Omega
Scanner. This new device simply and accurately captures the shape
of the residual limb for socket manufacture.
Hosmer Dorrance specializes in Upper Extremity
and through Ortho Europe offer a complete range of componentry
including cosmetic, body powered and myo-electric control.
Silipos gel technology specialize in a range of
products for socket comfort.
In addition to these and many more high tech
products, Ortho Europe continue to manufacture and supply a range
of Conventional Limb components, along with a Central Fabrication
manufacturing unit which employs highly skilled and experienced
technicians to support the UK Limb Fitting Companies
